Timmerman allowed his first and only hit in his fourth appearance for the Whitecaps. He’s struck out 15 across 11 innings with only 4 walks so far this summer. He sets up on the first base side of the mound and side steps into a medium lift where he tucks his heel and wraps his leg. He throws from a ¾ arm slot with forward lean and finishes above the belt before swinging his momentum to the first base side of the mound. His fastball is 90-92 with high spin in the 2400-2500 RPM range and generates good ride and life through the zone, allowing the pitch to play above its velocity. He mixes in both a cutter and a slider, the cutter primarily thrown to lefties and the slider to righties. The cutter is in the upper 80’s and the slider was 77-81.
