UBC East Scout Notes: Day 1

Blake Fields (2025, Orlando, Fla.) had a big day at the plate in the early morning slot for FTB/Phillies Scout Team 2025. Standing at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds, the outfielder is strongly built and physical. In his first at-bat of the day, stepping up with the bases turned on an 84 mph fastball on the inner-half & lined it hard into left field. It would result in a bases clearing double, giving the Phillies an early lead, and would end up being the difference in the 4-1 victory. Fields would also collect another hit and loud barrel on a liner to center field. He ended the day reaching base all three times, going 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBI. The Florida native employs a toe tap and clean weight shift on to his back side before starting his swing. He stays direct to the ball and the strength in his hands is evident at impact.
