WWBA Freshman World Scout Notes: Day 1

Nico Soul (2025, Marvin, N.C.) took two very impressive at-bats on night one of the WWBA Freshman World Championships on his way to a 2-for-3 night. The South Charlotte infielder started the night in left and found himself in the three-hole, where his offensive production can be maximized. In his first at-bat, he picked up a single on a breaking ball after working the count and spoiling some fastballs as he kept the hands back just long enough to flick it into the outfield. He capped the night off with a long drive to deep center field, burning the outfielder for a triple as the Panthers looked to widen their lead. The left-handed stroke shows a smooth path with leverage ability at contact, helping to provide some of the power he put on display Thursday night.
