14u/16u West WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2

14u West WWBA National Championship

Alfonso Trujillo (2024, Goodyear, Ariz.) had a breakout day at the plate on Sunday morning as he went 2-for-3 with two singles. The right-handed hitter showed a smooth stroke at the plate along with an all-fields approach. He showed solid bat speed through the zone with a flat path that is geared toward producing line drives to all parts of the diamond.

Jack Swanstrom (2025, Jamul, Calif.) was an on-base machine Sunday after going 2-for-2 at the plate with two base hits. He also reached base another time when he worked a walk. Swanstrom also was able to drive in a run with his bat and score another two runs himself. The right-handed hitter showed advanced bat to ball skills along with an all-fields approach at the plate. He’s a high energy player who brings a versatile skillset to his team.

Isaac Ahokovi (2024, Kailua, Hawaii) showed off his bat, going 2-for-3 with a double. He hits from a slightly open stance, high hands with slight movement, has a small leg kick stride. Showed off his power today, has a short compact swing which allows him to square the ball up and hit it hard and on a line. Ahokovi did a great job behind the dish, as he commanded his pitchers well and kept everything in front. He has a strong arm with a quick transfer and good footwork. He is the No. 2 catcher and overall player in Hawaii. He has a strong athletic build fit the mold of a power hitting catcher.
