Super Regional NIT Scout Notes: Day 1

Ed Small (2025, Austin, Texas) has swung the bat well all tournament and has been a force on the basepaths. His swing is athletic and fluid with solid bat speed. His plate discipline is advanced and he rarely chases. He’s frequently active on the base paths and is always looking to steal. An absolute pest in the leadoff spot.

Nicolas Partridge (2025, Lakeland, Fla.) and his athleticism stand out in all facets of his game but especially while on the mound. He’s got a short, whippy arm action and changes his timing in the delivery to fool hitters. His fastball mainly sat 75-76 mph with tail. Partridge showed some feel for a breaking ball which will continue to develop moving forward. Once he fills out and adds velocity, this arm could become an intriguing prospect.

Cannon Goldin (2025, Buford, Ga.) is a left-handed hitter with a simple swing. It’s compact and he’s able to explode through the ball rather easily with a recoil finish. The bat path is smooth with little to no wasted movement and he's a very athletic player that can steal a bag. He uses his speed well and plays with a lot of energy. Currently committed to South Carolina.
