Southeast Labor Day Classic Scout Notes

Trent Hodgdon (2021, Smiths Station, Ala.) made the start for 5 Star on Friday night in a short look. The command was not quite to his usual standards in this one but the velocity and three pitch mixture is certainly intriguing enough for the West Virginia commit. Hodgdon ran his fastball up to 89 mph while staying in the upper-80's and featured a good curveball with tight spin and 11-to-5 shape as well as a changeup that he uses in the low-80's to retire left-handed hitters. The 2021 graduate from a talented 5 Star team has a great frame at 6-2, 195 pounds and stays online with his delivery.
