5/6 Game Recaps

8:00 AM - Elite Squad Outlaws improved to (3-0) in pool play and clinched a spot in the championship game with a 11-3 win over the EvoShield Florida Canes (1-2). Bryan Rivera pitched all five innings for the Outlaws to earn the win and also went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored at the plate. Daniel Cuvet (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI), Joseph Mincey (2-for-2, 2B, 2 R), Devin Catoni (2-for-2, R, 2 RBI) and Paul Lane (2-for-2, 2 R, RBI) each hat two hits a piece for Elite Squad. The Canes were led Edian Espinal and Matthew Correa who each had two hits and a run scored at the top of the order.

Caiden O'Brien pitched Kangaroo Court Roos National (2-1) to a 6-3 win over the Lutz Lake Monsters as the righty fired six shutout innings and tallied nine strikeouts. O'Brien was also 1-for-2 at the plate with two runs scored. Jessiah Branch and Aj Shelton each added a double and a run scored, while Kodi Deskins contributed two runs and two RBI for the Roos. The Lutz Lake Monsters had eight different players record a hit despite the loss and were led by Joey Rametta who doubled and had an RBI.

Turn 2 Baseball improved their record to (2-0-1) as they pounded out 15 hits on their way to a 8-3 win over Boca Hitmen (0-3). Carter White led the way for Turn 2, finishing 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI, while Auystin Schrowe (3-for-4, 2B, R), Jake D'Altrui (2-for-3, 2 R), Tyler Bouchard (2-for-2, 3B, 3 R, RBI) and Sean Peace (3-for-3, R) all had multi-hit performances. Zachary Mandell (2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI) and Tyler Haas (3-for-3, 2 R) were standouts offensive performers for the Boca Hitmen. 

The Georgia Florida Boys (2-1) totaled five extra-base hits in just six innings in their 12-7 win over Hit Factory Elite (1-2). Joseph Thomas led the charge with two triples, two runs scored and three RBI while going a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish. Qrey Lott (1-for-3, 3B, R), Dalton Knapp (1-for-3, 3B, 2 R, RBI) and Kobe Riggs (1-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI) each had great performances as well for the Georgia Florida Boys. Hit Factory Elite notched 10 hits of their own in the contest, led by Michael Hawks (2-for-3, 2 R), Aiden Hendels (2-for-3, R, RBI), Kevin Lopez (1-for-2, R, 2 RBI) and Christian Heinz (1-for-3, 2B, R).

10:15 AM - The Elite Squad Outlaws (4-0) continued their outstanding tournament with a 12-3 win over Hit Factory Elite (1-3). Daniel Cuvet (3-for-3, 2 R, RBI) and Nickolas Mora (2-for-2, 2 R) both had multi-hit games, while Brandon White contributed a double, two runs scored and an RBI, and Joseph Mincey added an RBI triple. William Boyer and Kevin Lopez each had a double and a run scored for Hit Factory Elite.

The Georgia Florida Boys improved to (3-1) on the tournament with a 16-1 run-rule victory over the Gulf Coast Monarchs. Grant Gallagher, Qrey Lott and Bryce Genton each went 3-for-3 at the plate as the trio combined for nine RBI and five runs scored. Alex Kuenzle finished the game 1-for-2 with a double for the Monarchs. 

The Kangaroo Court Roos improved to (3-1) with a 9-2 win over the Boca Hitmen (0-4) behind a complete game effort from Kodi Deskins. Deskins struck out nine batters across six innings and allowed just two hits and one earned run. The Roos recieved multi-hit performances from Caiden O'Brien (2-for-2), Anthony Gualemi (2-for-3, R), Cj Thornton (3-for-3, 2 R, 2 RBI), Gabe Wheeler (2-for-3, R, RBI) and Justin Mayes (2-for-3, R, RBI). Dean Dragos had a hit and a run scored, while Chris Owens had a hit and an RBI to lead the Hitmen.

Turn 2 Baseball (3-0-1) advanced to the championship game this afternoon with a 5-2 victory over the Hit Factory Tigers thanks to a great pitching effort from Sean Peace who retired all but the final batter and allowed just two runs on seven hits in 6.2 innings of work. Nathan Lawler also had a big game for Turn 2 Baseball, going 2-for-2 with two RBI, while Andrew Hanlon was 2-for-3 with a run scored at the plate. David Gonzalez pitched five shutout innings for Hit Factory before Turn 2 Baseball took the lead in the top of the sixth inning. Anthony Dimillo (2-for-3, 2B), Jose Vazquez (1-for-3, 2B, R) and Manny Santos (1-for-3, 2B) led the way offensively for the Tigers.

12:30 PM - The EvoShield Florida Canes (2-2) finished up their tournament with a 10-2 win over the Gulf Coast Monarchs (0-4). Jake Kulikowski was dominant through three shut out innings pitched, striking out eight batters and allowing just one hit for the Canes. Kulikowski had had an outstanding performance at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI. Edian Espinal continued to spark the offense at the top of the order with two hits and a run scored, while Chris Knier (2-for-2, HR, 3 R, 2 RBI) and Antonio Alvarez (2-for-3, 2 RBI) also had multi-hit games. The Gulf Coast Monarchs were led by Andrew Williamson who doubled and had two RBI, and Parker Turner who fired two shutout innings of relief.

The Hit Factory Tigers (2-2) evened their tournament record with a 7-1 win over the Lutz Lake Monsters (1-2-1). Michael Brazer shined with six innings pitching, allowing just one run on four hits to pick up the win, while David Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI out of the leadoff spot for the Tigers. SS Joey Rametta finished the game 2-for-3, and Jimmy Curtis scored the lone run for the Lutz Lake Monsters.

3rd Place Game - The Georgia Florida Boys (4-1) finished off a great tournament with a 12-7 win over the Kangaroo Court Roos National (3-2) to take home third place. Grant Gallagher and Qrey Lott each had a triple and three RBI for the Georgia Florida Boys, while Aidan Knaak was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. The Roos were paced by Aj Shelton and Anthony Gualemi who had two hits and two RBI each, and Gabe Wheeler tossed two innings of scoreless relief. The Georgia Florida Boys only loss was to the eventual tournament champions.

Championship Game - For the second tournament in a row, the Elite Squad Outlaws (5-0) and Turn 2 Baseball (3-1-1) squared off in the championship game, and the Outlaws came out on top with a 9-4 victory. Elite Squad totaled 14 hits, led by Jeter Polledo (3-for-3, R), Nickolas Mora (2-for-4, R, RBI), Bryan Rivera (2-for-2, R, RBI), Devin Catoni (2-for-3, R, RBI) and Christopher Perez (2-for-2, R, 2 RBI). Turn 2 Baseball had 11 hits of their own and were paced by Jake D'Altrui (2-for-4, R) and Brayden Williams (2-for-3, 2B, R).

Christoper Perez of Elite Squad Outlaws was named the tournament MVPitcher after throwing 4.1 innings and allowing just one unearned run with eight strikeouts to pick up the win in the Championship Game. It was Perez's second win of the tournament in which he finished with a 0.00 ERA.

Daniel Cuvet of Elite Squad Outlaws was named the MVP as he lead the tournament with 11 hits in five games, finishing with a .647 batting average with a double, six RBI and five stolen bases.
