4/22 Game Recaps

4/22-

8:00 AM- Elite Squad Outlaws were led in there win against Okeeheelee Tribe by Pablo Torres (2 hits including a homerun, 3 runs, and 5 RBI's), Jeter Polledo (3 hits, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's), and Daniel Cuvet (2 hits, 1 run, and 4 RBI's). They also got a great outing on the mound out of Bryan Rivera (4.0 innings pitched, 0 runs, 3 strikeouts, and 2 hits).

Parkland Pokers defeated Outkast Baseball academy 4-2. Carson Dircks led the Pokers both offensively and defensively with 2 hits and an RBI at the plate while also pitching 5 innings, striking out 6, and only letting up 1 run on 3 hits. William Guettler of Outkast tallied a hit and RBI in the game.

Turn 2 Baseball and SWARM BLACK were facing off for a spot in the championship game and while it was close most of the game, Turn 2 came in clutch at the end and ended up winning 5-2. Gavin Howe, Jake D'Altrui, and Joey Citrola all had a pair of hits for Turn 2 and Ryan Shelbourne threw well for them only allowing 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 4 in 5 innings of work. Andrew Duncan led SWARM in hits with 2 including a double and triple while Isaiah Myles had an RBI and a few outstanding plays at SS.

Palm Beach Select's played a great game against SWARM GOLD being powered behind Joe Thomas and Carter Gschwind who both had a pair of hits and RBI's. Thomas also came into pitch and threw 1 scoreless inning. This improves them to 2-1 in the tournament. Paul Goodwin led SWARM's offense with 2 hits (2B and 3B), 2 runs scored, a walk, and 4 RBI's.

10:00 AM- Outkast Baseball academy beat Turn 2 Baseball 11-4 behind the team leading 3 hits from Charlie Alonso and 3 RBI's from Wyatt Peters. Gavin Howe and Carter White both got a pair of hits for Turn 2.

Okeeheelee Tribe defeated SWARM GOLD 7-4 with a big game at the plate from catch Ty Robbins. Robbins had 3 hits, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Austin Adkins threw a complete game and struck out 2 batters. Joey Galvin let SWARM in hits with 2 doubles and an RBI.

In a game that would help decide their pool, Elite Squad Outlaws defeat Sarasota Vipers to advance to the championship agianst Turn 2. Jeter Polledo led Elite Squad in both hits and RBI's with 3 while Nikolas Mora also had 3 hits and Joel Enriquez had 3 RBI's. The Vipers were led offensively by Sam Klanot with 2 hits, an RBI, and run scored.

SWARM BLACK defeats MBA 04 for our final 10:00 game. Jaden Hughes led SWARM offensively with 3 hits, 2 doubles, 3 RBI's, and a run scored. Joe Greenwood, Ethan Burkhardt, and Zachary Redner combined for the shutout struck out 5 batters. Lucas Oliver and Hayden Wright both had a pair of hits for MBA.

12:30 PM- Parkland Pokers finished the tournament 2-2 after beating MBA 04. The Pokers were powered offensively by Evan Russo who finished the game with 3 hits, 3 runs, and an RBI. Aaron Pankratz threw great for the Pokers only letting up 3 hits in 4 scoreless innings.

Sarasota Vipers defeated Palm Beach Select in a close game 10-6. Tristan McGregor and Brennan Peterson had 2 hits apiece while Wyatt Giddens led the team in RBI's. Nate Stafford and Sam Martorella led Palm Beach Select in hits with 2 and AJ Crespo led them in RBI's with 3.

CHAMPIONSHIP-
The championship game was a match up between 4-0 Elite Squad Outlaws and 3-1 Turn 2 Baseball. Elite Squad was smashing the ball all game with 15 total hits. Multiple Elite Squad players tallied 2 RBI's in the game but right fielder Jeter Polledo and extra hitter Brandon Wright really shined with 3 hits, 2 RBI's, and 2 runs scored apiece. Turn 2's third baseman Carter White got 3 hits and an RBI while first baseman Joey Citrola finished the game with 2 hits and 2 RBI's. Citrola was also named the MVP Pitcher of the tournament after finishing 1-0, striking out 10, letting up 1 hit, and 0 earned runs. Elite Squad's Pablo Torres was named the MVP of the tournament finishing with 8 hits and 10 RBI's.
