2007 World Showcase
Tyler Holt is a 2007 OF with a 6'0'', 180 lb. frame from Gainesville FL, who attends Gainesville HS. He has a medium athletic frame and very good present strength for his size. This was our first look at Holt in a showcase environment and this young man has tools and skills. He's a 6.62 runner who maximizes his speed with an all out hustling style of play. His outfield defensive fundamentals are excellent; he makes accurate, on line throws and has very good arm strength. Holt hits out of a very open stance and has a flat, line drive swing with very good bat speed. He stays on the ball a long time and hits line drives to all fields with authority. With his speed and hustle, Holt is going to lead some leagues in triples. Never underestimate this young prospect, he's a performer who loves to play. Holt is a good student who has signed with Florida State, where he should be a great college player if the pros don't get him first.
