KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Morning Session
Morgan Bandy is a 5-10, class of 2024 3B/1B from Belton, MO who attends Belton HS. Morgan is a strong physical presence on the softball field with the ability to play numerous positions on the diamond. She is especially gifted with a bat in her hands. She is a sound runner as evidenced by her 3.58 20 yard time and shows explosive quickness with a 1.18 five yard split. Defensively, Morgan took reps at both first base and on the infield. On infield, she showed sound footwork that allowed her to position routinely. Her glove plays well here and she can throw from all platforms. Her 51 mph throws show solid carry consistent accuracy. At first base, Morgan 's quick feet and natural feel for this corner spot allow her to position smoothly and easily. She has smooth and soft hands and her glove plays extremely here. She makes routine transitions to throw and her tosses, at 49 mph, hold their plane and are consistently accurate. She has commendable talent on the infield, but her future may see her more at first base. Where Morgan truly shines is at the plate. The powerful righthanded hitter has a big swing operation and lets the barrel fly. She doesn't get cheated. When on time and on path with her bat, she can crush a ball. There won't be too many fields that will hold her power. She is a natural slugger who will create problems for opponents and should slot nicely into the middle of any batting order. She will be a run producer. Morgan is a player with a big upside future. She has unlimited potential, especially with a bat in her hands. With a few years left in both her HS and travel ball careers, she will certainly improve on her already impressive ability. Solid prospect. Big and bright future.
