KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Morning Session
Izzy Carter is a 5'4, class of 2023 SS/2B, OF from Overland Park, KS who attends Olathe East HS. Izzy is a quick and noticeably athletic player who has a veteran's approach to the game. Her ability was highlighted by a plus average 3.46 20-yard dash. Her 5-yard 1.13 explosive burst speed was highly impressive. A primary middle infielder, Izzy shows quick and steady footwork to position easily. Her soft hands allow her smooth glove to play at a high level. She is an easy fielder. She shows consistently strong arm as evidenced by her firm 52-mph throws. Her tosses across the diamond held their plane and were highly accurate. Izzy is a next level defender who will provide a steady hand in the middle of the diamond for any number of college programs. The LHH is a solid bunter and it is obvious that this skill is a big part of her game. She is primarily a slapper and has the right idea concerning this approach. She doesn't run herself out of the box. She is calm to and through contact. She keeps her barrel on path and moves the ball especially well to the left side. Her speed game should allow her offense to truly play well at the next level. Top of the order prospect. Izzy has the right approach to the game. She understands her ability and plays within that framework. She is going to help a program at the next level and her disposition says she will ultimately lead that team, too.
