2023 Florida Workout Showcase (Friday)
Carlo Vazquez is a 2027 1B/RHP/3B/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Royal Palm Beach, FL who attends Oxbridge Academy. A taller frame and medium build with room to keep filling out moving forward. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash. Primary corner infielder who worked out at first base with a short and quick arm action on display. Had quick feet and good picks with the glove, funneling well into release with on-line throws across the infield. Made a good move off the bag and attacks the ball well. As an infielder, he showed projectable actions working through the ball, with accurate throws across to first at 78 mph. Had a clue with choppy steps working into it and a clean exchange. He also worked out in the outfield, fielding one-handed off the front foot working into a crow-hop. Throws were at 80 mph and accurate to the bag in the air. Ball was on a lower flight staying on-line throughout the round. Had some whip to the arm stroke and was able to reach third and home in the air on-line. A right-handed hitter with a wider base, higher-set hands, and a lower back elbow. Uses a toe-tap trigger before striding through the swing. Had some barrel wrap in his setup before getting the hands through the zone working uphill. Was able to get the hands to the ball with some strength off the barrel. Showed some strong line drives working the backside gap during his round of BP swings. Named to 2023 Florida Workout Showcase TP List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
