Jersey Lessenger is a 5’6, class of 2023, outfielder from Fruitland, IA who attends Louisa-Muscatine HS. She is a plus average runner with advanced quickness as shown by her 3.36 20 yard/60 foot dash and 5.20 shuttle run. Defensively, Jersey is a well above average OF. She is a smooth and easy athlete who shows noticeable first step quickness to position. She plays through the ball with gathering momentum and fields with consistent confidence. She transitions quickly and her throws show plus carry and are consistently accurate. A definite prospect with a glove on her hand. Offensively, Jersey is a poised and accomplished bunter. Her bunt tool is a part of her offensive game that she can certainly use as a plus. Her swing operation is highlighted by a consistently quick bat. Her path is flatter and more middle of the field oriented, and she shows a consistent ability to get the barrel to and through contact with authority. She should be an on-base machine that can run the bases and pressure any defense. Her mature presence at the plate is impressive and she should have a big future at the next level. Jersey is a plus prospect with a sound game that is college ready. She should continue to develop over her next few high school and travel seasons. Positive upside ability. (cjm)
