Peyton McCabe is a 5-foot-3, class of 2023 3B/C, SS from Fairfield, IA who attends Fairfield HS. Peyton is a gifted and athletic player who shows outstanding potential. In addition to her noticeable ability on the diamond, she is also a gifted student. She ran a 5.97 40-yard dash and was time at 3.78 from HP to 1B. Additionally, she posted a 5'9 1/2 standing broad jump. A primary infielder, Peyton shows easy and natural movement on the dirt highlighted by a big arm that shows quality movement throughout the throwing action. Her glove plays well. She shows quick footwork, and her hands are soft and consistent. She transitions well and her powerful 62-mph throws show firm carry and are consistently accurate. At the plate, Peyton is a natural. Sound ability with the bunt game. She starts with a wider base and shows an easy load to trigger. She fires the lower half well and is short to and through contact. She impacts the ball consistently. She is more middle-of-the-field oriented with her bat path and shows a slugger's lift at contact. Her emerging power is certain to improve as her career continues. Peyton is a standout player right now. Her current ability dictates that her future, with continued attention to detail, along with added strength and experience, will certainly project to the college level. Sound collegiate prospect.
