William Messner is a 2024 RHP/1B, 2B with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Salado, TX who attends Salado. Recorded a 7.61 second sixty yard dash time. Long and slender frame with room to fill. Primary right-handed pitcher with drop and drive lower half mechanics, really sinks into his back hip. Low effort operation overall, utilizes a long arm circle with a high three-quarters release. Flashed a decent curveball with 12-6 shape and straight vertical drop/downer action. Has solid movement to it at times and will become an out pitch for him as he develops his control. Tends to use mostly his arm/upper body out of the stretch, will improve as he engages the lower half better. Developing strength and physicality at present, will make great strides as he continues to grow and get stronger. Secondary infielder with developing actions and glove work, works hard to get into position and field the ball in the center of his body. Right-handed hitter with a wide stance and a high hand and back elbow set, utilizes a no stride trigger. Stiff and crouched over set up, leans the front shoulder forward to start. Longer swing path on a level plane, made primarily ground ball contact during his round. Great student.
