Taylor Johnson is a 2019 C/OF with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Poway, CA who attends Poway. Medium frame with strong, well-built physicality. Switch-hitter, even-based from right side with high hands and back elbow, quick hands through zone, gets barrel moving out front, good carry on the ball, wants to lift the ball and does so successfully. Ability to generate backspin from left side, a bit less balanced from left side, shows pop to pull side. Worked out behind the plate, pops up a bit early, shows athleticism to footwork, lengthy loose arm stroke, clocked up to 82 mph on throws. Also pitched, balanced leg lift, strides open with lead foot, compact arm stroke, fastball worked 82-84 mph with heavy life, works down in zone well, threw strikes. Very good student, named to 2018 PG Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List. Verbally committed to Loyola Marymount.
