Amartya Eswaran-King is a 2020 OF/MIF, RHP with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Washington, DC who attends Woodrow Wilson. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.91 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with clean, smooth footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Fluid glove actions at pick up and worked through exchange well. Released from a three-quarters slot created accurate, on line carry to the bag at 88 mph. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing solid footwork with good range to each side. Reads hops well while funneling and worked through transition quickly. Displayed good arm strength from the infield as well topping at 87 mph. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Direct hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted plane through extension. Consistently repeated swing with balance while employing a mid field to pull side approach. Also pitched utilizing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed some jump out of hand with good sink in the low 80's, topped at 84 mph. Curveball had tight 11/5 shape with late depth in the upper 60's. Also flashed a changeup offering that generated some late sink to the bottom of the zone in the low 70's. Excellent student.
