Gus Shelton is a 2022 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Randleman, NC who attends Randleman. Medium frame with athletic, projectable build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.51 seconds. Hits from even-based stance with stationary hand load, good strength through swing, steeper entry path, middle-field approach with ability to turn the barrel out front and square it up pull-side, can impact the ball with good jump when square. Worked out at first base, fields cleanly in deeper funnel, clean transfer, clocked up to 74 mph on throws. Also pitched, long arm stroke through the back, whippy arm, three quarters slot release, fastball worked 73-75 mph with deceptive release, worked in changeup with good arm speed as well. Excellent student.
