Braden Deverman is a 2025 RHP/MIF/OF with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Bloomington, IL who attends University. Slender frame. Ran a 7.62 60-yard dash. Primary RHP with a belt high leg kick, medium stride length and three-quarter arm slot. Nice job of bending the back and getting some extension out front on the release. Fastball sat 77-80 on a slight downhill plane. Locates the fastball well down in the zone and to both sides of the plate. The breaking ball is a slider in the low 70's with some late break to it, improved spin efficiency will really help develop it as a swing and miss pitch. It's two pitches with strike throwing ability and plenty of projection remaining on the mound. As an infielder shows fundamental footwork to the ball, the ability to make all the plays, just not overly quick, and an above average throwing arm with some accuracy. In the outfield shows developing footwork, fields it but loses momentum working through the ball, crow hops to throw and shows slightly above average arm strength. Hit from an even base with a clean leg lift load at the plate. Rotational swing, some occasional timing issues, but with compact bat speed and some feel for the barrel when everything is close to in sync. Definite abilities to project on both sides of the ball. Great student.
