Mason Salling is a 2018 RHP/UT with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Humble, TX who attends Atascocita HS. Nice athletic build with good present strength and room for more. Well paced delivery, gets his lower 1/2 turned well, has good arm looseness with an extended 3/4's arm slot, bit cross body out front. Fastball topped out at 82 mph early, mostly straight, works his fastball to both sides of the plate and tries to spot the ball. Flashed a slider that had nice sweeping depth, can utilize this pitch more often, tends to slow arm significantly on his curveball. Has playable actions defensively as both a corner infielder and corner outfielder, makes accurate throws with some carry from both positions. Right handed hitter, hits from an open bent knee stance with a short downward swing, opposite field approach, has the strength to open up his swing and look to drive it more. Good student.
