Grant Bournigal is a 2020 SS/2B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Lakeland, FL who attends Lakeland Senior. Strong, athletic build with room for added strength. Ran a 7.20 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary infielder. Displayed athletic actions working around and through the baseball. Showed low out front funnels with clean glove actions including a clean backhand with the ability to work through the baseball. Flashed good range working to both sides of the infield with quicker footwork. Showed clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to first base topping out at 81 MPH across the infield. Left handed hitter. Employs an upright slightly open stance with a leg lift trigger. High intent swing creating good barrel speed through the zone with a slightly elevated barrel plane creating consistently driven fly balls to the pull side. Utilizes a gap to gap approach with present ability to drive the baseball to and through the gaps in the outfield with consistency. Belmont commit. Excellent student. Named to the 2019 National Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
