Cooper Melvin is a 2023 1B/3B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Valdosta, GA who attends Lowndes. Recorded a 7.58 second sixty-yard dash time. Large, durable build with present strength throughout his frame. Primary first baseman, fields out in front of body well, showed good feel around the bag with good footwork. Plays lows with good flexibility for size. Throws recorded at 75mph across the diamond. Improvement of food speed would be beneficial to defensive side of game. Right-handed hitter, stands square with a high back elbow and a high hand set. Slight leg-lift-trigger to get going, remains balanced during swing. Elevated swing plane, direct and right to the ball. Impacts the ball well to the middle of the field. Gets barrel out to contact, reaching at times, could let ball travel just a bit more. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
