Daniel Smith is a 2020 OF/1B, 2B with a 6-1 178 lb. frame from Bonaire, GA who attends The Westfield Schools. Athletic build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.16 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Flashed athletic movements working to and through the baseball in the outfield. Displayed clean glove actions fielding the ball with low funnels. Showed developing transfers into throws with developing arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 66 MPH from the outfield. Right handed hitter. Employs a wider stance with a high hand set and short leg lift trigger. Uses a slightly uphill barrel path with good bat speed and rotational upper half mechanics creating consistently driven contact to the pull side. Displayed the ability to drive the ball to and through the gaps in the outfield with good jump off the barrel to both gaps when on time and squared. Great student.
