Ben Lloyd is a 2018 RHP/MIF, 3B with a 5-7 165 lb. frame from Union, KY who attends Larry A. Ryle. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Ran a 7.62 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, simple side step to leg lift delivery. Creates some downward plane while drive to the plate. Releases from a three-quarters arm slot creating solid torso rotation through finish. Fastball flashed some sink when located down in the zone, topped at 73 mph. Slider has softer spin with some sweeping actions when locating to glove side. Consistently filled the strike zone with both pitches and shows the ability to reach each edge when consistent with release point. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing a slightly deeper fielding position while surrounding the baseball. Flashed clean glove skills with good fluidity while funneling out front. Good first step angles while working to both sides with developing range. Gets rid of the baseball quickly with a compact arm action topping at 71 mph. Throws produces some carry to the bag with accuracy. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple leg lift rigger. Lower half launches with rotational actions to contact generating some shift. Level path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Primarily used a mid-field approach, but flashed the barrel skills to work to the opposite field as well. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition.
