2023 Iowa Blitz Fastpitch Combine
Offense- Right handed hitter who has a balanced swing. She did mis-hit the ball for a lot of backspin, but is so close to really squaring the ball up. Once she really gets her barrel control figured out, she will be an effective contact hitter.
The 1B/P has a great defensive foundation and fields the ball well in both positions. She will only continue to get better as she gains experience and matures.
Pitching- Right handed pitcher who throws a fastball, change-up, dropball, and riseball. Throws in the mid 50’s with a solid motion mechanically. Explodes off the mound well and generates a good amount of energy. With more snap work, her velocity will jump tremendously with her already solid mechanics. She throws a push change-up, which in turn means she slows down her arm early to take speed off. Right now this pitch is a bit too fast. Dropball is effective when her posture stayed tall. Struggled to get break on it but when she adjusted her posture, it was solid. Riseball was most of a high fastball at this point. She needs to continue to work her spin direction and tightness to get this pitch to jump more.
