Johann Gibbs is a 2024 OF/RHP with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Cerritos, CA who attends Cerritos. Features a medium/high-waisted frame. On the mound he works exclusively from the stretch and is a repeatable mover down the mound. Uses a smaller knee tuck where his arm works into a slight stab in the back and up to a higher ¾ slot. Pounded the zone with his 3 pitch mix. FB worked 78-82 working it effectively to the gloveside. Manipulated shape on his breaking ball well showing ability to add and subtract depth/sweep. Flashed a quality CH as well that he had feel for it in-zone and showed decent fade. In the OF, he showed athleticism in his approach fielding every ball cleanly with quickness in getting to release. Got off accurate throws that flashed some carry to the bag using a compact arm action. At the plate, he sits in a balanced/athletic stance. Uses a simple load and trigger with minimal hand/barrel movement. Barrel works on a direct path to the baseball flashing some hand strength and quickness. Pounded the middle of the field with LDs throughout his round which translated into in-game barrels as well. 7.15 60 yd. Made Top Prospects List.
