Ryan Gargett is a 2023 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Inspiration Academy. Large frame with a physicality about him showing strength throughout the frame. Ran a 7.54 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, sitting down in his stance as he proved to be flexible with the lower half. Feel for receiving the baseball and was quick with transfers on throw downs. Gains ground with quick feet and released with intent. Recorded a 1.95 second pop time during drills. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with an overall simple operation as he stays balanced throughout while utilizing drop & drive mechanics. Whip to the arm and he lived down in the zone. Ran the fastball up to 87 mph while working it to both sides of the dish. Mixed in a tight spinning slider with late depth and a hard changeup that dropped off the table at the zone. Competitive on the mound and carved up opposing hitters. Right-Handed Hitter, starting even and slightly open with the front side. High hands behind the ear before working into his load and striding out. Strength in the hands present as he generates easy bat speed. Big thump in the bat when he gets extended as he proved he could drive it to the pull-side gap for power. Great Student. Named to National Underclass Main Event Top Prospect List.
