Kasey Gilman is a 2022 RHP/3B/OF with a 5-6 140 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Monsignor Farrell. Young, square shouldered build with a lean, projectable build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.81 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step moving into a high leg lift up past belt, gets tall on backside during gather. Stays compact with arm action through the back working to an over-the-top slot with a tight release point. Hip turn at top helps hide ball, lived down in zone out of windup; fastball topped out at 66 mph, pitched to contact and stayed off barrels, shows occasional cut to glove side and can continue to implement additional lower half into release. Showed a 12-6 shaped curveball with depth up to 61 mph. Gets low moving towards the ball in the infield, fields out front and works to an over-the-top release point, on line throws across the diamond, young actions that will continue to develop, gets on top of throws well. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and low back elbow a the plate. Upper body dominant swing with limited shift through lower half, contact oriented approach and shows a full path through the zone. Loads hands back at start of swing, linear path through the zone and gets the barrel going, high finish through point of contact, projects with additional strength. Very good student.
