Christian Ovecka is a 2023 OF/LHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Mt. Laurel, NJ who attends Bishop Eustace Prep. Recorded a 5.12 second forty-yard dash time. Projectable frame with long limbs, a high waist and some lean muscle. Plenty of room to add strength and fill out. Primary outfielder with smooth, fluid actions throughout the fielding process, maintains momentum well ,funnels off his front, gathering cleanly and working through the release. Clean, easy arm action, recorded arm strength up to 79 mph during drills with accuracy to the bags. Secondary left-handed pitcher, full windup delivery, over-the-top arm slot with long, loose arm swing on the backside. Fastball worked in upper-60s for the majority of his outing, flashing god arm-side run and the ability to command it well to both sides of the plate. Mixed in sweeping breaking ball that has 11-5 shape to it and good late depth to it. Left-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and knee-to-knee hover trigger. Pull-side approach with rotational lower half mechanics, quickness to his hands and slightly elongated, round swing path. Contact oriented swing with consistent bat-to-ball skills and some line drive impact when timed. Will continue to improve in all facets of his game with minor refinements to his skills and additional strength. Excellent Student.
