Jose Valadez-Acuna is a 2021 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 210 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Veterans Memorial. Big and strong build. Deliberate tempo to his delivery, slightly open landing out front, hides the ball well behind his body, high 3/4's arm slot, Fastball topped out at 91 mph, maintained his velocity well, comes out of his hand clean with good angle to the plate, has nice late life and gets on hitters quickly with his deception. Slurve type breaking ball, creates good spin but still developing feel for a consistent release on the pitch, can get over it better from his release slot. Very good student, verbal commitment to Texas Tech.
