Torre Langley is a 2006 catcher/right handed pitcher from Winston, GA with a muscular build at 5-9, 175 lbs. He's arguably the best catching prospect in the country and doesn't get much argument when it comes to defense. You will rarely see a catcher at any level with better arm strength. Langley threw 86 mph down to second and that's what we usually get him at. His best pop time was 1.76 and Langley throws that without rushing and putting the ball right on the bag more often than not. Langley is also a very quick athlete who can run (6.90) and shift quickly. He's caught some of the best pitching prospects in the country the past few years and is very polished. Offensively, Langley is a line drive hitter who stays balanced and within himself very well. He has good bat speed and is just beginning to show occasional gap to gap power. Perfect Game scouts have compared Langley to another short catcher, the Astros Brad Ausmus, who has won multiple Gold Gloves. Langley is a very good student who has committed to Georgia Tech.
