Michael Brady -- Brady is a 6-1 junior shortstop from California who we saw play in October. He’s gained noticeable strength and maturity in his body since then and even though we liked him a lot then, we like him much more now. Brady has smooth actions in the field and solid average arm strength from shortstop. He’ll occasionally stab at the ball a bit but he has tools to stay at the position. We especially like how Brady has developed his bat speed. He’s a front foot hitter who gets good extension through the ball and hits it hard. Brady also took a 2 inning stint on the mound and was very impressive. He sat at 84-85 mph with hard late life to his fastball and was in complete command of his mechanics and his pitches. Brady is definitely a college level pitching prospect in addition to his skills as a position player. He is also a very good student. Keep a close eye on this kid, he has talent.
