Linder, Matt- We have seen Matt many times in the past 2 years. He’s an athletic RHP whose going to throw in the 90’s in the near future. He aggravated a minor finger injury in Ft. Myers and was limited to just one inning pitched. Possibly due to his sore finger, his mechanics looked a bit out of whack. He appeared to throw with more effort than when we last saw him. He appeared to be in a rush to reach the 90’s. Until he aggravated his finger, he did show 88-89 MPH with life. His breaking ball looked promising and the changeup was in the plus range. Overall, he looked to be the same Linder that projects off the charts , only this time he appeared to have a little more violence in his delivery. Bottom line, he’s going to be very good and has yet to commit to a college. He could go early enough in the draft so that there may be no college baseball in his future. Then again, he has the potential to become an early pick later out of college.
